Tropical Sunsets and Rum Punches!

It Doesn't Get any Better!

There is just something special about tropical sunsets. It could be the beautiful colors, the smells, the sounds of the ocean, or maybe just the location. No matter what it is, it's definitely habit forming. Once you and yours spend a few nights watching sunsets, you won't want to leave.

To wrap your own mind around one is natural, but to try and explain that same sunset to someone who didn't see it is impossible.

“When I admire the wonder of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in worship of the Creator”- Mahatma Gandhi

On this page, we will help you find some great places to watch sunsets. We definitely haven't found all of the best places yet but we will share some of our favorites! Remember, where ever you find yourself at sunset, that is the best place to be!

Make sure you always carry your camera! You will always have your memories of the explosive sunsets you will encounter in the "Keys", but you are going to want to capture those memories so you can share them with your friends and family back home!

You can experience great and romantic tropical sunsets from Key Largo, Florida to all points south! Any Florida map will eventually lead you to the "Keys". Once here, it's sunset time!

"Here's a Tip!"

We recommend you assemble a "Sunset Survival Kit!" It should contain a beach blanket, an hour of your time, and a hand to hold. Keep handy just in case you catch a tropical sunset!

The "Keys" tropical sunsets can easily pass the water test on their own, but combine them with a "Rum Punch" and you have an instant winner!

Here are Some of our Favorite Hang-outs to Watch the Sun Go Down!

Mallory Square in Key West. Although it's usually a little to crowded to consider it romantic, it's almost to much fun! Located at the end of Duvall St., once the sun goes down, the night life begins!

The Caribbean Club in Key Largo. Where the movie "Key Largo" with Humphrey Bogart was filmed. Here you can watch the sun go down from the waters edge with a Rum Punch in hand! Absolutely beautiful!

Ft. Jefferson in the Tortugas. This requires a bit more planning but well worth the effort. You need to arrange for transportation and you will have to camp out overnight. On our trip over from Key West, we witnessed a huge waterspout just of the Marquesas! It doesn't get any better than this little adventure for catching sunsets!

Fiesta Key. If you are RVing or tent camping, this is a great spot. Located at MM75 Bayside, this KOA Campground is excellent for hunting the elusive green flash!

Tea-table Key just south of Islamorada. This is a great spot to catch sunsets, but one of many along US 1(the Overseas Highway) heading south from Key Largo, Florida.

The Florida Keys Beaches. Although the beaches in the Florida Keys are different than most Florida beaches, they do have their own personality and watching sunsets from any of the bay-side beaches is a memorable experience!
