"John Pennekamp State Park is an Ecological Paradise!"

This park is world famous and a major attraction to those visiting the "Keys". If you are looking for a bunch of outdoor activities, this is the place for you.

Located at MM 102 Oceanside, The park is easy to find. Watch for the big sign. The entrance turns directly off of the Overseas Highway towards the ocean.

Be careful here though, there is a usually heavy traffic in this area.

John Pennekamp has plenty to offer everyone. Two small beach areas, boat rentals, guided trips, swimming, snorkeling, diving, and camping are also available.

Along with the many concessions, there is a nice little store with gifts and food. Showers, restrooms, pavilions and picnic areas are available and adjacent to the store.

The visitor center is loaded with information on the area. Stop in and get a little education on the state park's marine and wildlife resources.

This park is all about enjoying some fun in the sun. There is something for everyone at John Pennekamp. This is a great place to bring your family and friends to share some good times!

Note:

If you are looking for a little solitude and a place to "find" yourself, try to avoid the weekend.

Pennekamp is a short ride from South Miami, and it gets a lot of local traffic.

Bottom line, Pennekamp State Park is a great place to visit and enjoy a great day in the sand and the sun.
