5th Annual Orange Bowl Swimming Classic January 03 in Key Largo Some of the best collegiate swimmers in the country are to compete at the Jacobs Aquatic Center, mile marker 99.6 oceanside, in an event that is a facet of South Florida’s annual Orange Bowl festival. Village New Year’s Day Celebration January 01 in Islamorada The annual 5k Run, Walk and Crawl is slated to start at 8 a.m. at Founders Park, mile marker 87 bayside in Islamorada. A day of festivities is to follow with the blessing of the fleet at Whale Harbor Bridge, a skate competition and jam, and a birthday party for Islamorada, the Village of Islands. Key West Symphony Orchestra - Master Concert No. 1 January 09 to January 10 in Key West Features pianist Alexander Ghindin, and Jin Hi Kim, a highly acclaimed komungo virtuoso and Korean percussionist who has been instrumental in transforming the Buddhist monk’s drumming for enlightenment into a high-energy performance piece. Key West WPA Walking Tour January 10 in Key West Part of a series of tours to be offered every second Saturday through February. Lead by local history guides, the walking tour will lead participants on a journey through Old Town Key West to discover the works of WPA artists and the stories behind the art.
