Many artists of various mediums have called the "Keys" home or have made it a stop over along the way.
A few of these artists include Ernest Hemingway, Tennessee Williams, Jimmy Buffet, J.J. Audubon, Vincente Dopico and others.

The Keys have always been a magnet to accomplished and aspiring artists alike.
With the ocean, the bay, the wildlife, the weather and the magnificent sunsets, is it any wonder?
Inspiration seems to be a by-product of the Florida Keys.
Any Florida Keys or Key West vacation should include an itinerary of the local art galleries.
Afterward, polish off the day with a stop at "Margaritaville" for a cheeseburger, a drink, and some Key Lime Pie, then mosey on down Duvall St. for a sunset to die for!
There is a never ending string of events from Key Largo to Key West and many are centered around the islands' local artists.
The Florida Keys artists are definitely inspired by history, culture, and environment. Sea creatures, birds of the everglades, and flora seem to be popular themes. You will find a hint of the island life in all local artists portfolios!
